Ingredients

1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 cup canned chili (beanless or with beans – your preference!)

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for extra spice)

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 egg (for egg wash)

Fresh chopped cilantro or green onions (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare Crescent Dough: On a clean, flat surface, unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangular pieces according to the package instructions.

Mix Filling: In a bowl, combine the shredded cheddar cheese, canned chili, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper (if using), and salt. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.

Assemble Rolls: Place about 1-2 tablespoons of the chili and cheese mixture near the wide end of each crescent triangle. Carefully roll the dough from the wide end toward the tip, ensuring the filling is tucked inside. Pinch the ends to seal.

Egg Wash: In a small bowl, beat the egg. Brush the top of each rolled pastry with the egg wash for a nice golden color when baked.

Bake: Place the rolls on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and flaky.

Cool & Serve: Once baked, remove from the oven and let them cool for a minute. Garnish with fresh cilantro or chopped green onions before serving.

Enjoy! Serve warm as a delicious snack or appetizer!
