Ingredients

2 large sweet potatoes

3 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

½ teaspoon sea salt

¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)

1 tablespoon cornstarch (for extra crispiness)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

Prepare the Sweet Potatoes: Wash and peel the sweet potatoes. Cut them into fry-shaped pieces, about 1/4 inch thick. Try to keep them uniform in size to ensure even cooking.

Make the Coating: In a large mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, sea salt, and cayenne pepper (if using). Mix well until you have a smooth glaze.

Coat the Fries: Add the cut sweet potato fries to the bowl with the glaze. Toss until all the fries are evenly coated. For an extra crispiness, sprinkle the cornstarch over the fries and toss again to coat.

Arrange on Baking Sheet: Spread the sweet potato fries in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Make sure they don’t overlap for optimal crispiness.

Bake: Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, turning the fries halfway through. Bake until they are golden brown and crispy on the edges.

Cool and Serve: Once done, remove the fries from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. They will continue to crisp up as they cool. Serve warm, perhaps with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a creamy dip for a fun twist!
