Ingredients

1 medium cucumber, peeled and finely grated

1 cup Greek yogurt (full-fat for creaminess)

1/2 cup sour cream

2 tablespoons fresh dill, finely chopped (or 1 tablespoon dried dill)

1 clove garlic, minced

1 tablespoon lemon juice (freshly squeezed for the best flavor)

1/2 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon onion powder

Optional: extra dill for garnish

Instructions

Start by preparing the cucumber. Peel and finely grate the cucumber using a box grater or a food processor. Once grated, place the cucumber in a clean kitchen towel and squeeze out excess moisture. This step is crucial to prevent your dip from becoming watery.

In a mixing bowl, add the Greek yogurt and sour cream together. Stir until fully combined for a smooth texture.

Incorporate the grated cucumber into the yogurt-sour cream mixture, mixing well.

Add in the freshly chopped dill, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, black pepper, and onion powder. Stir until all ingredients are well incorporated.

Taste the dip and adjust the seasoning, adding more salt, dill, or lemon juice as desired.

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or transfer the dip to an airtight container. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld together nicely.

Serve chilled, garnished with a sprinkle of extra dill if desired. This dip pairs wonderfully with fresh vegetable sticks, crackers, or pita chips.
