1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes (with juice)

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped

Cook the Pasta: Begin by bringing a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta cooking water, then drain the pasta and set aside.
