Ingredients

For the Chicken Tenders:

1 lb chicken breast, cut into strips

1 cup buttermilk

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup panko breadcrumbs

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1 tsp paprika

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

Vegetable oil, for frying

For the Honey Mustard Dip:

1/2 cup mayonnaise

1/4 cup honey

1/4 cup Dijon mustard

1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

Marinate the Chicken: In a medium bowl, combine the chicken strips and buttermilk. Allow the chicken to soak for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours in the refrigerator. This will help tenderize the chicken.

Prepare the Breading Stations: In a shallow dish, mix the flour with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. In another shallow dish, place the panko breadcrumbs.

Coat the Chicken: Remove chicken strips from the buttermilk, letting any excess drip off. Dredge each strip in the seasoned flour, ensuring they are fully coated. Next, dip them back into the buttermilk briefly before placing them into the panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to ensure an even coating.

Fry the Chicken: In a large skillet, heat about 1/2 inch of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot (approximately 350°F), carefully add the chicken tenders in batches, avoiding overcrowding the pan. Fry for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to transfer cooked tenders to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Prepare Honey Mustard Dip: In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, honey, Dijon mustard, and apple cider vinegar. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Adjust sweetness or tanginess by altering honey or mustard according to preference.

Serve and Enjoy: Arrange the crispy chicken tenders on a platter and serve immediately alongside the honey mustard dip.
