Ingredients

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

3 tablespoons olive oil

5 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to heat preference)

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt and pepper, to taste

1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

1 tablespoon lemon juice

Zest of 1 lemon

Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

Preparation: Begin by patting the shrimp dry with paper towels to ensure they get crispy during cooking. Season the shrimp with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika.

Garlic Butter Sauce: In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter and 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Once the butter has melted, add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until the garlic is fragrant but not browned.

Cooking the Shrimp: Increase the heat to medium-high. Add the seasoned shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for approximately 2-3 minutes on one side until they turn pink and slightly golden. Flip the shrimp and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes on the second side, allowing them to cook through.

Finishing Touches: Once the shrimp are cooked, reduce the heat back to medium. Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter, chopped parsley, lemon juice, and lemon zest to the skillet. Toss the shrimp in the sauce until well coated and heated through.

Serve: Transfer the crispy garlic butter shrimp to a serving dish. Drizzle with any remaining sauce from the skillet and garnish with additional parsley if desired. Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side for an extra zing.
