2 cups all-purpose flour

1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) instant yeast

1 tsp sugar

¾ tsp salt

¾ cup warm water (about 110°F)

2 tbsp olive oil (plus extra for brushing)

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp dried oregano

½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Dough: In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt.

Mix: Add warm water and olive oil. Mix until the dough starts to come together.

Knead: Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

First Rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Prepare Garlic Oil: In a small bowl, mix the minced garlic, olive oil, dried oregano, and red pepper flakes (if using). Set aside.

Shape the Breadsticks: Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a rectangle about ½ inch thick. Cut the dough into strips, approximately 1 inch wide and 6 inches long.

Second Rise: Place the strips on a parchment-lined baking sheet, cover with a towel, and let them rise for an additional 30 minutes.

Preheat Oven: During the last 10 minutes of the rise, preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Add Garlic Oil: Brush the risen breadsticks generously with the prepared garlic oil mixture. Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the top.

Bake: Bake for about 15-20 minutes or until the breadsticks are golden brown and crispy.

Garnish: Remove from the oven, sprinkle with chopped parsley, and serve warm with marinara or your favorite dipping sauce.
