Instructions

Prepare the Cake Batter:

    - Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour three round cake pans (8-inch) for even baking.

      - In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

        - Add eggs and vanilla extract, mixing well after each addition.

          - In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk, until the batter is smooth.

            Divide the Batter:

              - Divide the batter into three equal portions.

                - In the first bowl, add the unsweetened cocoa powder and mix thoroughly for the chocolate layer.

                  - In the second bowl, add a few drops of red food coloring and mix until you achieve a light pink color for the strawberry layer.

                    - Leave the third bowl as is for the vanilla layer.

                      Bake the Layers:

                        - Pour each layer of batter into the prepared cake pans.

                          - Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

                            Make the Frosting:

                              - In a large bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, heavy cream, and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.

                                - Split the frosting into three equal portions. Add cocoa powder to one portion for chocolate frosting and mix well, adding more cream if needed for spreadability.

                                  - For the second portion, add strawberry puree (if using) and pink food coloring, mixing well.

                                    - Leave the third portion as is for vanilla frosting.

                                      Assemble the Cake:

                                        - Place the chocolate cake layer on a serving plate. Spread a layer of chocolate frosting on top.

                                          - Place the strawberry cake layer on top and spread a layer of strawberry frosting.

                                            - Add the vanilla cake layer and use the remaining vanilla frosting to cover the entire cake evenly.

                                              Decorate:

                                                - Finish by decorating the top of the cake with fresh strawberries, chocolate shavings, and colorful sprinkles as desired.

                                                  Serve:

                                                    - Slice the cake and serve it with a scoop of vanilla, chocolate, or strawberry ice cream for an extra special treat!
