Ingredients

1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain

2 cups broccoli florets

1 bell pepper, sliced (red or yellow for color)

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 inch piece of ginger, grated

1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 tablespoon vegetable oil (for frying)

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon honey

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

Cooked rice or noodles, for serving

Sesame seeds and chopped green onions, for garnish

Instructions

Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, combine the sliced flank steak, soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and honey. Mix well to ensure the beef is evenly coated and marinate for 10 minutes while preparing other ingredients.

Prep the Vegetables: While the beef marinates, wash and cut the broccoli into florets and slice the bell pepper. Mince the garlic and grate the ginger.

Cook the Beef: In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over high heat. Add the marinated beef in a single layer and sear for about 2-3 minutes until browned. Flip the beef slices and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until just cooked through. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.

Stir-Fry the Vegetables: In the same skillet, add a bit more oil if needed, then toss in the minced garlic and grated ginger. Stir-fry quickly for 30 seconds until fragrant, then add the broccoli and bell pepper. Stir-fry for 4-5 minutes or until the vegetables are tender-crisp.

Combine and Finish: Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the vegetables. Drizzle with sesame oil and add red pepper flakes (if using). Toss everything together for another 1-2 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

Serve: Serve the beef and broccoli stir-fry over cooked rice or noodles. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions for added flavor and presentation.
