Ingredients

1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 teaspoons smoked paprika

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (or to taste)

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Juice of 1 lime

Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Shrimp: In a large bowl, combine the shrimp with lime juice and toss to coat evenly. Let it marinate for about 10 minutes.

Make the Blackened Seasoning: In a separate bowl, mix together the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, thyme, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

Season the Shrimp: After marinating, sprinkle the blackened seasoning generously over the shrimp. Toss to ensure that each shrimp is well coated with the spices.

Heat the Pan: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.

Cook the Shrimp: Add the seasoned shrimp to the hot skillet in a single layer. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the shrimp are pink and opaque, being careful not to overcook.

Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat and garnish with chopped cilantro. Serve the blackened shrimp on a bed of rice, in tacos, or with a fresh salad.
