Ingredients

2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced

1/2 cup fresh basil leaves, packed

1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 4-6 lemons)

1/2 cup honey or agave syrup (adjust to taste)

4 cups water

1 cup ice cubes

Lemon slices and basil sprigs for garnish

Instructions

Prepare the Strawberries: In a blender, combine the sliced strawberries and 1/2 cup of water. Blend until smooth. If you prefer a seedless texture, strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve to remove seeds. Set aside.

Make the Basil Infusion: In a saucepan, add 1 cup of water and the fresh basil leaves. Heat over medium heat until just boiling. Remove from heat and let the basil steep for about 10-15 minutes. Once steeped, strain the basil from the liquid and allow it to cool.

Mix the Lemonade Base: In a large pitcher, combine the fresh lemon juice, honey (or agave syrup), the prepared strawberry puree, and the strained basil infusion. Stir well until the honey dissolves completely.

Combine with Water: Add the remaining 3.5 cups of water to the pitcher and stir to combine. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.

Freeze for Slush: Pour the lemonade into ice cube trays and freeze for at least 4 hours or until solid. Alternatively, you can also freeze the entire mixture in a large container, stirring every hour until it reaches a slushy consistency.

Serve: To serve, blend the frozen cubes or slushy mixture with 1 cup of ice cubes in the blender until smooth and slushy. Pour into glasses and garnish with lemon slices and fresh basil sprigs.

Enjoy: Sip your refreshing Frozen Strawberry Basil Lemonade on a hot day and relish the burst of flavors!
