Ingredients

1 lb ground turkey

1/2 cup diced green chilies (canned or fresh)

1/4 cup finely chopped onion

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 cup breadcrumbs (preferably whole wheat)

1 egg, lightly beaten

1 teaspoon cumin

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese (optional)

Slider buns

Sliced avocado (for topping)

Fresh cilantro (for garnish)

Sriracha or your favorite hot sauce (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Grill or Pan: Preheat your grill or a frying pan over medium heat.

Prepare the Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, diced green chilies, onion, garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. If you’re using cheese, add it in as well. Mix thoroughly until well combined but avoid overmixing.

Form the Patties: Divide the mixture into equal portions (about 4-6 patties, depending on desired slider size). Gently form each portion into a slider-shaped patty.

Cook the Sliders: Place the patties on the preheated grill or pan. Cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and are golden brown.

Toast the Buns: In the last few minutes of cooking, place the slider buns on the grill or in a separate pan to lightly toast.

Assemble the Sliders: Once the patties are cooked and the buns are toasted, assemble your sliders. Place a turkey patty on each bun, add slices of avocado, and drizzle with Sriracha or hot sauce if desired. Garnish with fresh cilantro.

Serve & Enjoy: Serve the sliders warm with your choice of sides, like sweet potato fries or a fresh salad.
