4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

1/2 cup honey

1/4 cup soy sauce

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

3 cloves garlic, minced

2 teaspoons fresh ginger, minced (or 1 teaspoon ground ginger)

1 tablespoon olive oil

Salt and pepper, to taste

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for a spicy kick)

2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions
 

Marinate the Chicken: In a medium bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, minced garlic, minced ginger, and red pepper flakes (if you want the heat). Place the chicken breasts in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Seal or cover and let marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, preferably up to 2 hours for deeper flavor.

    Preheat the Grill/Pan: If you’re grilling, preheat your grill to medium-high. For pan-searing, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

      Cook the Chicken: Remove the chicken from the marinade, reserving the marinade for later use. Season the chicken with salt and pepper. Place the chicken on the grill or in the skillet. Cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and the chicken is golden brown.

        Thicken the Marinade: While the chicken is cooking, pour the reserved marinade into a small saucepan. Bring it to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 5-7 minutes until it thickens slightly. This will serve as a delicious sauce.

          Glaze the Chicken: In the last 2 minutes of cooking, brush the thickened marinade over the chicken, allowing it to caramelize slightly.

            Serve: Once cooked, let the chicken rest for a couple of minutes before slicing. Drizzle any remaining thickened sauce over the chicken and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
