Ingredients

1 lb baby carrots (or sliced regular carrots)

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

1/4 cup pure maple syrup

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional for extra warmth)

Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Carrots: If using regular carrots, peel and slice them into uniform pieces (about 2-inch lengths) to ensure even cooking. If using baby carrots, rinse them under cold water and set aside.

Melt the Butter: In a large skillet, heat the unsalted butter over medium heat until melted. Make sure it doesn't brown; you want it just melted for this recipe.

Add Carrots: Add the prepared carrots to the skillet and sauté for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they start to soften and are coated in the melted butter.

Mix Glaze: In a small bowl, combine the maple syrup, brown sugar, salt, pepper, and cinnamon (if using). Stir until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is well combined.

Glaze the Carrots: Pour the maple-brown sugar mixture over the partially cooked carrots in the skillet. Stir to coat the carrots evenly in the glaze.

Cook Until Tender: Reduce the heat to low, cover the skillet, and let the carrots cook for an additional 10-12 minutes. Stir occasionally, allowing the glaze to thicken and the carrots to become tender and caramelized.

Last Touches: Once done, taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. If you desire a bit of extra glaze, cook uncovered for a couple more minutes to caramelize further.

Serve: Transfer the glazed carrots to a serving dish and garnish with freshly chopped parsley for a pop of color. Serve warm and enjoy your deliciously sweet Maple Brown Sugar Glazed Carrots!
