Ingredients

1 (9-inch) pie crust (store-bought or homemade)

1 cup chopped pecans

1 cup pure maple syrup

1 cup brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup heavy cream

3 large eggs

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

Optional: additional whole pecans for garnish

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Prepare the Pie Crust: If using a store-bought crust, fit it into a 9-inch pie dish. If making your own, roll out the dough and transfer it to the pie dish, trimming any excess pastry.

Toast the Pecans: Spread the chopped pecans on a baking sheet and toast them in the oven for about 8-10 minutes or until fragrant, stirring halfway through. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning. Remove and let cool.

Make the Filling: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, brown sugar, heavy cream, eggs, vanilla extract, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well combined and smooth.

Add Pecans to Filling: Gently fold the toasted chopped pecans into the filling mixture.

Fill the Crust: Pour the pecan filling into the prepared pie crust, spreading it evenly. If desired, arrange whole pecans on top for garnish.

Bake the Pie: Place the pie in the preheated oven and bake for about 45-50 minutes, or until the filling is set and slightly puffed. The edges should be golden brown.

Cool: Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool at room temperature for at least 2 hours. This allows the filling to set completely.

Serve: Slice the pie and serve warm or at room temperature. Enjoy it plain, or add a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for extra indulgence!
