Ingredients

1 pound large shrimp (peeled and deveined)

4 cloves garlic (minced)

2 tablespoons olive oil

Zest and juice of 2 limes

1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

Salt and pepper (to taste)

2 tablespoons fresh cilantro (chopped, for garnish)

Lime wedges (for serving)

Instructions

Marinate the Shrimp: In a bowl, combine the shrimp, minced garlic, lime zest, lime juice, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Toss until the shrimp are well coated. Let it marinate for at least 10 minutes, but no more than 30 minutes to avoid cooking the shrimp in the lime juice.

Heat the Oil: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Make sure it’s hot but not smoking.

Cook the Shrimp: Add the marinated shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes on the other side, until the shrimp turns pink and opaque.

Adjust Seasoning: Taste and adjust the seasoning with additional salt and pepper if necessary.

Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat, sprinkle fresh cilantro over the top, and serve immediately with lime wedges on the side for an extra zesty kick.
