Ingredients

1 lb (450g) beef sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon oyster sauce

1 tablespoon hoisin sauce

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons vegetable oil (divided)

1 red bell pepper, julienned

1 yellow bell pepper, julienned

1 cup broccoli florets

1 carrot, thinly sliced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated

3 green onions, chopped

Salt and pepper to taste

Cooked jasmine rice or noodles, for serving

Instructions

Marinate the Beef: In a medium bowl, combine the thinly sliced beef, soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, and cornstarch. Mix well to ensure the beef is evenly coated. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes while you prepare the vegetables.

Prepare the Vegetables: Wash and chop all the vegetables as indicated in the ingredients list. This helps in quick cooking and ensures everything is ready to go when you start the stir-fry.

Heat the Skillet: In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat.

Cook the Beef: Once the oil is hot, add the marinated beef to the skillet in a single layer. Let it sear without stirring for about 2-3 minutes until it develops a nice brown color. Stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until fully cooked. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.

Sauté the Aromatics: In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Toss in the minced garlic and grated ginger. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

Add Vegetables: Add the julienned bell peppers, carrot slices, and broccoli florets to the skillet. Stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are tender yet still crisp.

Combine Ingredients: Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the vegetables. Add salt, pepper, and any additional soy sauce if desired. Toss everything together to combine and heat through for an additional 2-3 minutes.

Finish and Serve: Remove the skillet from the heat and sprinkle the chopped green onions over the stir-fry. Serve immediately over jasmine rice or noodles for a complete meal.
